A cloudy brown pour with a bubbly and vibrant head - not visually appealing, but the aroma is nice enough: a bit sweet and clovey. Actual flavor of the beer is simple, although still very drinkable. Heavy notes of chocolate, birch, coconut, and maple dominate with a long, somewhat cloying finish. Not bad as a sipper, although it would be improved by a big hunk of aged gouda.

750ml bottle. Pours a hazy orange-amber with good carbonation and a thin white head. Aroma is earthy and yeasty, with a mixture of floral notes, spices, and some citrusy hops. Taste is fairly full, with a taste of spices, earth, and grains giving way to an astringent and dry finish of floral and citrusy hops. A bit brusque on the finish, but still a pleasant earthy ale.

25 cL bottle at Delirium Café in Brussel. Pours clear cobber with a lacing white head. Light malt, slight metallic aroma and with a minor spice note. Light caramel malt flavour with a light spice note. Smooth finish with a mix of yeast, caramel malt and more subdued spice note. Distinct dry bitterness in the finish.

750ml caged and corked. Pours a nice looking deep amber with a pillowy white head with staying power. Plenty of fine carbonation. Lots of dusty yeast initially on the nose. Bready and doughy malt. A light amount of fruity esters. Spicy, dry and dusty hops. On the tongue the flavor has some sticky caramel sweetness accented by an odd spice and dirty, earthy hops. Medium bodied. Slightly sticky. Lively carbonation. Finishes with a metallic dryness.

25cl bottle: Pours hazy amber with a very fine stable & lasting white creamy head. Aroma is sweet of malts, bread, fruits & yeast. Medium body & carbonation. Dry & a slight hoppy end. But the flavor really lacks something - very anonymous. Short end!

(25cl bottle) Hazy, amber colour with a fluffy white foam. Slightly yeasty, sourish sweet caramel-malty aroma with citrus-fruity notes and herbal spices. Slightly sweet and acidic flavour with a mild carbonation. Malt-accented, moderately fruity taste with spicy side effects; fairly slim, malty, slightly bitter and sourish finish with spicy and light flowery hoppy notes. Soft and pleasant brew, but not world-shaking.
