The bottle looks really good too. It has a pronounced hoppy nose with some lemongrass. The flavours I get are mostly caramel and a dominant but fine hoppy bitterness. Dry, above-average german beer with a soft carbonation. Could use a little more balance on the sweet side, at least for my liking. mindphlux (1), , Alabama, USA does not count | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 27, 2009 Amazing beer with truly unique qualities. Citrusy caramel/toffee aroma that is reminiscent of a British ale, but with some continental noble hops. Clear reddish amber with a lacy, off-white cover. Sweet caramel flavour with some floral hops. Significant bitterness that is in balance with the medium body and sweetness. Slightly metallic like a British bitter. Only a little nutty with notes of toffee and less citrusy than the aroma. Moderate to medium carbobnation. Lasting nutty bitter finish. omhper (12246), Stockholm, Sweden

Aroma of dust, honey and vegetables. Sweetish with industrial sharp and unfirm malt character. Flavour of boiled vegetables all the way to a dusty finish with some stale butter. darkseduction (206), Zweibrücken, Germany

Pours an amber coloured reddish brew with fine but small head. Decent top fermenting yeast sourness, elegant and refined malt body, nice hoppy dryness. Allover a very balanced and interesting brew. Good malty beer, little drying, some safe bitterness. The aroma is malty with some candy but its not a big aroma. Taste is also a bit chewy with a lot of toffee, Loz gets copper coin. Its similar to a UK ESB at times, good beer. A6 A5 F6 P4 OV14 3.5 thebeertourist (2822), Oslo, Norway
