Rich cocoa and roast aroma, very inviting. same delivery on the palate, moderately full bodied, dry and roasty finish despite the sweetish entry. Really terrific! Hooker (444), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada Jul 17, 2007 Black colour with burgundy hints and thin tan head. Mild esspresso nose. Thin esspresso tatse with bitter coffee and warming alcohol finish Crit (2234), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada Apr 8, 2007 Beer engine at brewpub:
Black, tan head. Great roasty choc/espresso nose.Roasted mocha/dry malt profile, slightly too light in body. Thinly carbonated tiggmtl (4169), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Feb 8, 2007 Chocolate, raisins and plenty of roast in the nose. Opaque dark brown body is topped by a decent, fine bubbled, tan head that recedes slowly to a lasting cover with some rings on the sides of the glass. Chocolate sweetness and the huge roastiness overwhelm some fruity esters leaving this a bit uni-dimensional. Medium body with pleasant carbonation. Pint glass. Cellar temperature. 1L swingtop bottle (Brewery Creek, Dec-06). BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jan 18, 2007 Dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma is oatmeal flakes and some chocolate. Roasted malts and chocolate for flavour. Nice and smooth but rather thin and plain.
