troyc (978), Lubbock, Texas, USA Jun 7, 2008 (Tap) Pours a rusty amber color with very little in the way of head. Sweet toffee and caramel aroma. Taste includes some caramel, with a good amount of bittering hops. Drinkable and decently balanced. Moderate carbonation and low-medium bodied. A pretty good beer, but at the same time nothing outstanding. 00cobraR (972), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA Mar 1, 2008 Brewery is now Triple Js but the beers are the same. much better than the raider red, but still nothing stellar. nice to get to drink some texas beers though. alkaloid (17), USA Aug 19, 2005 Full aroma that complements its reddish hue nicely. Tangy but not overpowering. Nice, drinkable beer that is better than Killian’s at any rate. Terminus (1955), Illinois, USA Mar 22, 2005 tap at brewpub-pours a copper amber hue with a decent white head. malty aroma with touches of peat, candy-lilke malts and english earthy hops. Flavors of caramel malts, lots of residual sweetness, but appropriate for this style i think. Touch of citrus on the finish. Soft palate, true to the style-fluffy and smooth. A very delicate ale with lots of sweetness and a good earthy hop presence. fly (1247), austin, Tejas, USA Jul 7, 2003 According to friend that brought growler, this was the most assertive beer to be found at the time he was there. While not at all bad, it is what I might expect in an Irish Red. Leaning to the non-descript with a fair body, ruby color (duh) and just enough hop tang to avoid being bland. Pleasant, but didn't grab me.
