MIBRomeo (1883), Wisconsin, USA Oct 3, 2005 Dark brown pour small light tan head well laced. Big carmel aroma some brown sugar and a tiny citurs piece. Well coated creamy and slightly oily palate. Sweet syruppy taste a good grass and citrus bite w/ a warm swallow. Not what I expected from 100+ IBU’s but pretty good anyway. alkaloid (17), USA Aug 19, 2005 A shocker of a beer - I was suprised to find this at our brewery here in Lubbock. Beer is very dark and menacing. Served in a wine glass. Aroma is overpowering but pleasant. Flavor is a rush over the tongue that increases in texture and strength as you wash it around. Very nice, strong finish. Too bad I’ve only been able to order it once... Terminus (1955), Illinois, USA Mar 22, 2005 tap at brewpub-ok, here is where the real deal of this brewery is-here in this Barleywine. Pours a deep amber hue with a nice rocky peach hue head. Wow! Here we go, great aroma of malt, sugar candy, citric hops, a great combination of malt and hops if you ask me. Some Pine in there in the hop aroma that reminds me of Great Divide Old Ruffian (this to me is a very close relative). lots of sweetness-apples and cherries come to mind. Some good lacing. has flavor characteristics to my local fav-High Desert Barleywine. The beer is still young and has alot of alcohol, but this has AMAZING aging potential. Nice work Hub City!
