Commercial Description:
Huber Bock has traditionally provided a creamy texture and rich flavor to beer lovers all over Wisconsin. It has a fine, malty body like the bocks of southern Germany, but is drier than the typical bocks of Bavaria. Huber Bock is made with Brewer's Two-Row Malt, Carapils Malt, Black Malt and domestic hops.

Not sure why I haven’t had this before. Something tells me i might have. Eitherway, last night I enjoyed $6 pitchers of this pretty decent beer. Pours a dark black colour with a small tan head. Aroma is pleasent, dark roasted malts, caramel and burnt toast. Taste is slightly metallicy eitherwise light but filling. coffee, raisins and plums.

12oz bottle. Poured a clear ruddy orange-brown color. Head was thick and tan with good retention. Smelled of subdued chocolate, nuts, and black bread. Dry up front with fairly light body. There was some water-down raisin and fig flavors with a chocolate accent and delicate sweetness at the end. Not terrible.

Deep amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma of caramel, bread, sweet malts and Lake Michigan (fish). Light on taste and lacking any substance this is a run of the mill bock. Finishes with a peppery finish that leads way to a mouth pursing dry aftertaste.

Tasted 3/28/08. 12oz bottle. Filtered with a dark bronze hue. Finger width of khaki colored head. Sweet malt aromas. Notes of cinnamon and sweet breads. Medium bodied and malt driven. Smooth and easy. Touch dry in the finish. Nice dark bready flavor. Mild effervescence and slight hops. Touch cocoa pops up somewhere in the middle of the palate. Nice session, inexpensive and high drinkability.

Draft at Baumgartner’s in Monroe. Dark clear rusty red color. Tangy scotch ale smells and flavors along with some plastic malts and cheap adjunct goodness. Twangy, tangy, simple and lightly rough on the tongue from the malt (husky). Simple, wet, common stuff here.

Pours dark brown like a cola with hints of red in it. Off white head that quickly disappeared and no lacing. Aroma is yeasty, sweet and smells somewhat cheap like a Pabst. Taste is smooth, a little roasty and even a hint of chocolate in the finish. Thin mouthfeel.

2oz bottle. pours garnet ruby brown with little if any head. armoa is sweet and a little sterile. hints of caramel and a touch of hops on the finish. smooth and full bodied. a little over carbonated. caramel sweetness and toffee fade into a chocolatey finish. not bad for 8.99 a twelve pack. rather drink this than amber bock.
