Taste is thin, slightly sweet and with a hint of citrus. Nothing special but easy to drink. BBB63 (4238), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 29, 2006 Bottle and served in standard pint glass: pour a nice reddish brown hue topped by a small but lasting frothy beige head and okay lace. The aroma has notes of caramel and toffee malting, rye bread, some apple and plum, and a non-aromatic tobacco ester. The taste is bready, nutty and a touch sweet at first with some fruity undertones. What is shocking is how sharp the finish is, dry and even a bit acidic. With the spritzy carbonation, it is refreshing even if not what you would except from a Bock bier, Quaffable stuff. milewide (613), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 8, 2006 Good malt flavor and rich dark brown color. I dropped a bottle on the basement concrete floor and it stained it brown (grin). Drier than German bocks. Little hop flavor. heemer77 (4309), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 23, 2006 Updated: Jan 10, 2007Very dark body that shows some medium orange when held to light. The head is a fairly light tan color with lots of large bubbles. The aroma is fairly sweet with some bubblegum and a little bit of pancake syrup. There is a hint of old carpet. The taste is better than I expected. It has some roasted peanuts with pancakes. There is also a hint of light coffee. Pretty good for a bock. dwyerpg (2537), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 11, 2006 Getting a paint/paint thinner aroma. This bock is decent given the price. Not thick or heavy, just a cheap bock that’s enjoyable. TerryR (383), Oswego, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 21, 2006 Deep brown color with some nice highlights. Thick tan head that leaves excellent lacing. Aroma of roasted malt. Nice malty flavor but the sweetness you would expect never comes. The driest bock that I have ever had. Overall very nice and for the price an excellent beer. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 30, 2006 An affordable brew with more flavor than the "macro" bocks. Sharp, with a lasting finish. When I lived in IL and could get this beer daily it changed my perspective on cheap locals. I highly recommend this brew for anyone with tastebuds and a wallet on a budget. (see glkaiser and waolsen) Bad, bad things happen when you drink it. Huber Nights have been known to injure people and cause sever memory loss. Drink at your own risk. God bless you if you dare.
