Commercial Description:
Huber Bock has traditionally provided a creamy texture and rich flavor to beer lovers all over Wisconsin. It has a fine, malty body like the bocks of southern Germany, but is drier than the typical bocks of Bavaria. Huber Bock is made with Brewer's Two-Row Malt, Carapils Malt, Black Malt and domestic hops.

This beer is special. Not the special you get in finely crafted beer but the special that if you drink more than one x-file shit happens to you. I haven’t drinken this since college. Our nights drinking satans concoction were call Huber Nights and go down in lore forever. It started with a case of Huber that looked like it was made in someones basement. There were labels on "at least" half the case and the caps just said BOCK. When you got to the bottom of the bottle there was enough sediment to build a sand castle. But the rating of 20 is well earned. The stories are kind of hazy and memories week but you knew when you woke up in the morning there would be stories to tell. To sum up this beer in one word I would say DESTRUCTION. There should be a warning label on this beer. It was tough going down and tougher coming up but God shined his light on me the first night I tried Huber Bock.

Draught pint, at Baumgartner’s Cheese Store and Tavern in Monroe, WI. Dark, clear walnut with a bit of diminishing head...light caramel-cherry nose, hint of toasty malt...nicely malty body despite the too-cold serving temp, a bit syrupy, sweet and lightly smoky, touches of molasses and hazelnuts...better than I’d expect from Huber, at least on tap at the source.

I had this at the brewery early fall. I just found a paper with my ratings on it. Slightly thick and malty. Beer is always better at the brewery.

Draft at brewery. Clear deep burgundy pour with a solid creamy off-white head. Very nice lacing. Aroma picked up some roasty malts and light caramel, but was rather weak. Flavor had a nice caramel base, some coffee bitterness, and light smoke... quite nice. Palate, however, was watery and somewhat cola-like. Short mildly bitter finish. Definitely palatable, and the finest of Huber’s offerings.

This is a nice, nice Bock beer! Very drinkable and smoothe as a prom queens thighs... Nice full-bodied beer flavors without any lingering unwanted skunk!

A local watering hole in Champaign is Huber’s. Once thought it great because in had Guinness on tap in the days when I believed Guinness rocked. This beer is a deep copper color with a transitory off-white head. Lightly carbonated but thin and watery, the flavor and aroma were malty, sweet, roasted grain, some caramel. Not a bad drink but nothing laudable.

A very dark bock with a deep reddish tint, this sadly loses its head almost immediately. The aroma is roasted malt with a touch of milk chocolate and a whiff of smoke. It’s got a nice malty, chewy body, but unfortunately finishes on a light metallic note. What that supposed to be the hops?

In the bottle at the 2005 Bad-burek party. Dark in color (caramel coloring) without all the pesky taste. Thin in body but does have a little coffee-roasted flavor. Light in the aroma category. Schell’s bock runs rings around this one. UPDATE: This beer was on tap at the 2006 Huber Haus Bockfest and used for loggerheading. I’ve got to say, it leaves a little to be desired once it is poked with a hot iron. I don’t think there’s enough malt to caramelize in it.
