| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 26, 2005 Dark bock, but not much body. Pleasant flavor. Aroma is more pronounced than most. I used to drink this stuff in college ($5.00/case of returnable bottles). I liked it then and I like it now. Not great, but better than many. ahole (38), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | May 25, 2005 Truly the best tasting Huber beer. Now, thats not saying much, but give it a try, and you may find that if you are at a back yard bbq, and all there is to drink is cheap macrobrewpee and this - your decision will be simple - drink out of the toilet!
Seriously though, this beer is Not Terrible, definately drinkable, but Not Even Close To Great. Little sweet, somewhat coffe-like, and only to be consumed frigidly cold - see note.
***Important Note - Never let you Huber Bock reach critical temperature, or you will not be able to avoid the gag reflex. TheBeerOrg (1589), Kentucky, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 24, 2005 Pours a very dark brown, near black. Head forms and recedes quickly, but leaves no lacing due to its lack of body. Notes of roasted malt and dark crystal linger for only a few moments after drinking the beer. Very thin for its dark color. Thought this would be interesting at first, but quickly became bored. Decent and easily drinkable, but lacking in character. Tmoney99 (4795), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 6, 2005 Bottle. Poured dark brown with an average rocky light brown head. Average aroma with roasted malt and hop tone. Medium creamy body. Flavor was well balnced with a moderate sweet finish. Above average for style BeerAteHer (384), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | May 2, 2005 Winey-rust color. Definitely drier than most bocks and also cleaner on the palate. Flavor is chocolate and malty. Has bock sugarieness but balanced by other malts and hop bitterness in particular. Grainy finish. Bigsky66 (148), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 5, 2005 Not a whole lot of flavor but has a nice sweetness. Sometimes bocks are to sweet. Has a light coffee flavor also. Overall kinda light. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 4, 2005 Smells of caramel and Munich malts with some discernable sugary characteristics. Color is the typical medium brown bock. Had on tap at the brewery and was served way too cold, and there was little flavor to the beer, so I let it warm in the glass while I redeemed and downed my other selections. After warming to about 45 degrees, the beer was much improved. Aroma wasn’t much different, but chocolate malts were more pronounced. Taste was true to style - chocolate and roasted malt flavor. Some chestnut and tobacco undertones. A descent poor man’s bock.
