Very akin to dark molasses, with some coffee, spice, and nutty notes. Pretty good, but lacks depth and complexity. At $7 for a case, the price is great, an excellent fridge fill if you’re expecting a crowd! WisconsinBeer (530), St Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 22, 2005 Bottle. Dark brown ruby color, not much head to speak of. Initial sweet malts with hints of nuts and maybe a touch of chocolate and caramel. Just a little bit of hops at the end. Palate wise this stuff is kinda thin but the flavor is pretty damn inoffensive. The malt profile is quite smooth and not too sweet and no bitter coffee thing going on. I wasnt expecting much from this beer but it doesnt seem to bad for 7.99/12 bottles. HopalotCassidy (12), Indiana, USA

Tasted this at a beerfestival and after hours of tastings I thought it was fantastic. In retrospect . . . not so good. SkyinBrian (429), Collinsville, Illinois, USA

I was thinking, huh, this’ll probably not be great, but for a buck, why the hell not? Anyway, I didn’t pour any, so I don’t know what it looks like, but it was dark through the bottle. Tasted sweet and somewhat chocolatey and nutty. Quite the bargain, I must say... MrHoppsworth (47), USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 12, 2004 Huber bock is my standby cheap beer(only 6.99 a 12pk.),and that makes it about your best beer for the money.
No it’s not the best beer in the world,or even the best beer at you local liquor store, but it’s got a nice malt character, and hops popping up too.
The finish ends with some nut flavors being detected.
Deep ruby apearance when held to the sun.
Very enjoyable drink to have with a good sandwich.Woooohooo! badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

Mild hops taste as well. It has a middle-of-the-road mouthfeel. Not nearly as bad as I thought it’d be. ToadMan (554), Washington, Washington DC, USA
