Aromas on the soft side and included caramel, toffee, roast and bready. Tastes of caramel, some dark fruits, and roast. Body was thin. For me, this one was just all around too thin and weak. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA

Tangy scotch ale smells and flavors along with some plastic malts and cheap adjunct goodness. Twangy, tangy, simple and lightly rough on the tongue from the malt (husky). Simple, wet, common stuff here. Cornfield (4966), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 23, 2005 A very dark bock with a deep reddish tint, this sadly loses its head almost immediately. The aroma is roasted malt with a touch of milk chocolate and a whiff of smoke. It’s got a nice malty, chewy body, but unfortunately finishes on a light metallic note. What that supposed to be the hops?

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Feb 19, 2004 Brown color with a moderate light tan head and a touch of lace. Aromas of dark chocolate and lightly roasted grains. Fairly light feel. Sweetness early and late in the quaff, and actually gets sweeter as it warms. Middle has a light roasted grain and nut dryness and flavor. A decent brew, perhaps somewhat of a starter bock. Tmoney99 (4778), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 4, 2003 Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark brown. Aroma is moderately malty (burnt grain, strong coffee). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, lightly acidic. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Surprisingly not terrible...the aroma needs work, but the flavor balance is quite good. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA

Dark, clear walnut with a bit of diminishing head...light caramel-cherry nose, hint of toasty malt...nicely malty body despite the too-cold serving temp, a bit syrupy, sweet and lightly smoky, touches of molasses and hazelnuts...better than I’d expect from Huber, at least on tap at the source. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA

The head is a fairly light tan color with lots of large bubbles. The aroma is fairly sweet with some bubblegum and a little bit of pancake syrup. There is a hint of old carpet. The taste is better than I expected. It has some roasted peanuts with pancakes. There is also a hint of light coffee. Pretty good for a bock.
