BitchesBrew (698), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA May 14, 2008 [bottle] Hazy, dark caramel brown color. Strong malt in the aroma. Flavors are heavy of the roasted malt character, with some clove spice beneath. Not really all that balanced, but still quite drinkable. StueyD (590), King’s Lynn, Norfolk, Norfolk, England Jun 5, 2007 A cloudy, yellow brown coloured beer with a thick white head. Zesty nose, wheaty, with a hefty tropical fruit aroma. The taste is dry and wheaty. Plenty of the usual weissbier flavours, spices, particularly clove and the expected banana and mango tropical fruit flavours, all backedup by a discreet, sweetish malt taste. A fizzy, dry, wheaty finish. (Gasthof Neuwirt, Halbergmoos, Germany). MoritzF (3690), Ruhrpott, Germany Jan 19, 2007 (bottle) Hazy, amber colour with a fluffy, slightly off-white persistent foamy head. Dusty, light-sweet, slightly toasty malty aroma, only slightly wheaty and fruity (banana/dried fruits). Light sweet flavour, malty, slightly wheaty and fruity taste with notes of toffee and cloves; light to medium bodied, moderately carbonated mouthfeel; slim, malty and slightly fruity finish with a light tartness and faint spicy cloves. Papsoe (9980), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 2, 2006 (Bottle 50 cl) Pours a slightly hazy dark amber with a nice, retentive, off-white head. Distinct aroma of banana. Medium-bodied with plenty of banana esters and some caramel. A lightly tart edge. Lovely. 160806 Storm (2677), Amager, Denmark Sep 1, 2006 Bottle. Dark amber colour with a little head. Great aroma of fruit speciely banana, also in the flavour ends up soft wheaty and very fine.
