Pours a cola darkish black with a fizzy cola like head which diminishes to nothing. Aroma is toasted malts, nuts, light roast and some chocolate and some kind of hint that this is a lacto stout. Doesnt smell or taste old, but judging form the ratings and the other old stuff at this place, this is probalby a couple years old, but it held up apparently. Light cardboardy and papery flavor with some chocolate, dried walnuts, graphite pencil, and hints of old acrid roast malt. Weak body and mouthfeel. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 26, 2004 Poured dark with hardly any head. The taste is somewhat straight forward, chocoltae with a bit of cocoa. If I didn’t know better, I’d think it was chocolate milk. Just a touch of bitternes. Although basic, I really enjoyed it. apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 4, 2003 Roasted nutty sweetness in the flavor, as in the aroma. Chocolate malts are also noticeable. Very smooth and easily drinkable, although there is no head whatsoever, which I prefer on my stouts. notalush (2690), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 1, 2003 Dark brown color, but still light enough to see through with even a little bit of light behind it. Slight, off-white head that leaves a decent lacing. The aroma is sweet and roasty, with a slight hint of chocolate. The mouthfeel is "milky," but a tad bit thin. Moderately sweet flavor, with some hints of the chocolate from the aroma, with a tiny bit of espresso on the back of the tongue. Smooth but characterless finish. Tastes kind of like Guinness w/o the bitterness. A good beer, but not great.
