10/03/2009: Hudy 14-K... Aroma: Moldy corn. Appearance: Golden yellow color, not quite the color of 14-K gold though; very transparent; dissipating off-white head. Flavor: Completely adjunct; no real malt or hops are noticeable at all; Bud is arguably better. Palate: Super light; carbonation level is too high. Overall: This is definitely a downgrade from Hudy Delite; drink Burger beer (either Classic or Light) instead - it’s cheaper and tastes better!
12 fl. oz. can from Bigg’s Hypermarket in Harrison, Ohio. Rating #3 for this beer.

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Nov 21, 2009 Pours completely translucent golden with a small white head. Aroma is grainy with a touch of sweetness. Light crisp flavor, some grains and a pinch of hops on the finish. Not bad for a pale lager. Skyview (4077), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 17, 2009 Received a 12-oz can via trade with shigadeyo. Pours a clear light golden pale colored brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind a thin film top. Aroma of golden grain malt, some corn, floral hops, crystal hops and a touch of grass. Taste is light bodied, a tad sweet, plenty of carbonation with flavors of bread dough and corn malt with crystal hops and a touch of honey. Finish is semi-sweet, a touch watery with a corn and crystal hop aftertaste that disappears. Not the typical crisp finish as most other macro-light beers, but nice to have tried another historical beer brand being revived. phaleslu (567), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 28, 2009 12 oz. can from a 12 pack from The Party Source and a 24 oz. draft from a beer trailer on Fountain Square during the Bengals-Steelers game. Hudy 14-K is back, and I haven’t been in Cincinnati (or alive) long enough to have had the original version. This one pours a clear pale gold with a big, smooth white head and pretty much carbonation. The aroma isn’t much- malt, grain, corn. The flavor is also not worth much more than a shrug- malty, corny, grainy, watery, and maybe a pinch of hops. Light mouthfeel, watery, smoother than some other cheap pale lagers, without much aftertaste. If the choice is between a few pale lagers, I’ll go with the local brands (even if this one is actually made in Wisconsin). garrison (459), Cin. city, Ohio, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 23, 2009 From a twelve ounce can purchased at the Fergueson Road Krogers in Cincinnati, Ohio - Look, I’m old enough to have had the old Hudepohl 14-K... this new brew is different from it! Anyway, here’s my take on the new stuff.... It pours a bright yellow, highly effervescent brew with malty aroma and a fast-fading white head. Tastewise, it’s a bit of a disappointment, with only a whisper of hops to buck up the light, grainy flavor. Hey, from my tastebuds tell me that it’s not as good as it’s also-brewed-at-Melanie canned compatriot Burger, although Hudy 14-K is a bit more upfront with the grains. The new 14-K is alright, but nothing spectacular (and a bit unbalanced to boot!).
