Subtle aroma of herbal hops and mild chocolate. Taste is chocolate and cola. Slight nuttiness and faint earthy and leafy hops. More of a brown ale than a spice or herb brew. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 14, 2007 Dark cola color with a cola like fizzy head. Aromas were decent. Caramel, some spice. Lots of malt with some fruity aromas too. Flavor fell off a bit with some metal. More malt than hops. OK, but not excellent. Dynamind69 (29), San Miguel, California, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Feb 11, 2007 Beautiful full red with an almond head. Aroma of rich malt, almost like a robust honey. Amazing heavy malt nose. Reminds me of San Diego Pale Ales! Flavor is of a herbal, grassy hop. Tastes like a toasted crystal malt wort, without the sweetness. (Just a handful of grain) It is drier than I expected. The label alone is of course reason to try this one. Distinctive crystal grains throughout this one. TheKegergator (241), California, USA

Nothing special just a nice easily put drank brew. The smell was a bit weak. The best thing about this ale was the drinkability. The weakest thing was prob. the smell and look, very simple on both parts. I could easily put back a bunch of these. bhensonb (4345), Woodland, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Jan 2, 2007 Musty, malty aroma of an American Brown Ale - maybe a bit light. Dark reddish copper color with a substantial beige head. Starts a bit sweet, followed by a leafy, dusty vegy taste. Don’t think there is any hop. All weed. Actually a bit ongoing sweet in the finish. Sort of coats the tongue. It is what it is.
