Sep 19, 2007 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Clear, dark, orangey brown with an off-white head. Roasted malt aroma with some vanilla. Medium-bodied, very soft mouthfeel and some spicy, lightly tobaccoish herbal accents. Almost no bitterness in the finish which is dry though. Nice but unspectacular. 180907

clear dark brown, short lived fine beige head still manages to leave a bit of lace, sweet nutty chocolate aroma with earthy hops, well balanced malt flavor with nice chocolate and mild bitterness, a typical brown ale

Sep 18, 2007 Brown color. Caramel aroma, light herbs. Thin body, caramel flavor, some residual sugars, light chocolate malt, but a rather unpleasant, even if light, herbal touch. Not my kind.

Jun 11, 2006 12oz bottle. Poured a deeper ruby red/brownish color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, nuts, and a wet grassy/earthiness. Tastes of chocolate, nuts, and earthy. Thinner body. Didn’t really get a ’spice/herb/vegatable’ out of it.

Nov 18, 2008 Bottle… Dark, clear crimson ale with a small, creamy, khaki head. Decent retention. Subdued, malty nose provides subtle notes of chocolate, nuts and vanilla. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Well-balanced flavor offers traces of chocolate and nuts. Short, crisp, clean finish. Brown ale, I think.
