Thinness...reminds of a dunkelwiezen . I know they would love a hemp reference in this one, but it just comes across as a dunkle. not bad, nor good. apparently I got a bottle before firestone bought them. Decent, but nothing special.

Jan 2, 2010 Bottle: Deep brown, copper highlights, small sudsy off-white head, a few spots of lacing. Sweet malty nose, subtle roastiness, hint of bittersweet chocolate. Much the same on the tongue, although not as malty as I would have liked. Flavors fall off quickly. Average body and mouthfeel. Perhaps a little dry. Some astringency on the finish, albeit its minor. Average Brown Ale.

Dec 18, 2009 Bottle from Todd Warshoff. What a guy!
Pours a decent and deep mahogany amber with a nose of sweet and earthy malt, with bits of carrot and freshly picked lettuce. Flavor is floral malt with a very earthy vegetable finish. Chunks of thin topsoil complete the taste. Watery mouthfeel. I’m not sure why hemp was added (other than the novelty factor) but whatever the reason, it doesn’t belong in beer.

Dec 18, 2009 ( 12oz bottle, provided by ericandersnavy ) Pours an amber-brown body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of toasted grain, nuts, roasted malt, light cocoa, and caramel. Flavor of nuts, caramel malt, cocoa, grass, and herbs.

Dec 9, 2009 Appearance: Pours a dark amber brown with a decent looking 1/4 inch of tan cream.
Aroma: Dry malt, bread crust and other earthy herbal notes I can’t quite describe.
Taste: Bread crust, burnt and toasted European malts and subtle bitter hops.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied and modestly carbonated.
Overall: I feel like I got a fresh bottle,based on the updated crowns on the bottle. I like this a lot better than when I had it on tap years ago. For the marijuana aficionados, this beer doesn’t taste or smell like weed. Go grab a bottle of Green Flash Hop Head Red or Imperial IPA if you are looking for that.

Nov 21, 2009 ( 12oz bottle thanks to ericandersnavy) Pours medium brown with no head but good lacing. Nose and taste of chocolate, a spicy/roasty linger and it’s also creamy. This beer is big on flavor, and I enjoyed it.

Nov 9, 2009 Deliciously fruity, zesty aroma... Rounded brown malt background... Nothing too dark here, perhaps chocolate malt, lighter caramel... Very slight coffee aroma... Malts are very mellow and nutty and pleasant smelling... Malt flavor is similarly subdued... Yeast is faintly estery... Sweetness is appropriate and this is a dry-finishing, low-carbonated, thin yet quaffable ale.

Oct 27, 2009 Bottle thanks to ericandernavy. The look is clear, reddish in color, with an off white head. The smell is malts, cardboard, caramel, and a little weird. The taste is off, malts, and not that great.
