Soft bourbon and ripe fruit nose with some mild pancake syrup notes. Good mouthfeel with great conditioning. Soft and rich with nice spiced fruitcake notes. Clean finish.

Copper brown color. Aroma of big sweet malts, caramel, roasty malts, dark fruit, herbs, smoke, wine and wood. Flavors include big rich and caramel malts, dark fruit, herbs, wood. A touch sweet in the finish. Tasted on keg at pre-GABF event at Falling Rock, and the brewers gave me some bottles in early 2007 that I think were from 06’. Anyway, look forward to this at your usual watering holes at some future date cause it’s good!

2006 handbottle from Logan. Tasted at Logan’s house with Logan and deftim13. A hint of oxidation, but it’s really subtle. Quickly fading head. Very mellow flavor. Mixed bubble head. Some caramel in the aroma. Leans sweet, but finishes dry. Mellowed hops. Light amber color.

idk if this is what i drank but what the hell: says firestone-walker english style barley wine, aged 9 mos, from a bourbon nitro tap: wine, alcohol, rum, coconut flavors with a syrupy feel.

GABF 2006: CLear dark brown-amber color with a medium beige head. Big fresh piney hop aroma with sweet fruity malt underneath. Piney hop flavor entwined with sweet dark fruity malt. The hops were big but everything was well balanced, even the alcohol.

Tap @ Toronado. A ruby red mahogany color with a laced tan head. Smoth and malty with a rich fruity body that includes apple, grapefruit, and mild citrus with a malty and caramel base. It coates the mouth.

Tap at Toronado. Pours with a dark copper color and a nice head withy excellent lacing. Aromas of caramel, malts and berries. Flavors predominantly malty, caramel, sweet and a hoppiness to balance. The alcohol is noticeable but unobtrusive. Finishes off with a pleasant sweetness without being cloying. Very nice.
