rickgordon (3080), Göteborg, Sweden Aug 7, 2008 On draught at the brewpub.
Deep dark brown colour with steady head. Milky, cellary aroma. No toast here. Not much dark aroma sensation at all. Milky flavour and mouthfeel. Low in everything but milkiness. There’s cardboard. Stupid name. Stupid beer.
DSG (997), Yuvalim, Israel Aug 9, 2008 (7/2/08) Draught at the brewpub in Merkendorf. Dark brown with a pinkish-white head. Aroma has some toasted malt. Sweet flavor, slightly sugary, with malt, some caramel and some milk. Medium-bodied. Maria (4772), Thisted, Denmark Aug 1, 2008 Dark brown with a red hue and a dense, creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and caramel. The flavour has notes of roasted malt, a light sourness (a bit citrus-like, but then again not), a very light sweetness and dryness. I find it out of balance and without the characteristics like licorice, coffee etc.... bierkoning (5079), La Tropica, Netherlands Jun 12, 2008 Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Light roastaroma. Roast flavor with notes of cardboard and skimmed milk. Hint of diacetyl. Nevertheless a fairly pleasant beer. Papsoe (11076), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 10, 2008 (Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Clear warm orangey brown with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt. Medium-bodied with distinct hard roasted malt accents - almost burned. Very bitter finish - probably from both hops and malt. Almost a German Stout! 050608
