Dec 7, 2005 [Draft at GBBF 2005] A brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet and very smoked with notes of rope. The flavor is also sweet and quite smoked - reminds me of smoked heering and rope. Nice one.

Clear nut brown. Beechwood smokey nose. Clean maltiness, balanced smokeyness. Short malt flavour and a salty bitterish finish.

Nov 28, 2008 50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden brown with a small tan head. Burned rubber smoked aroma. Mild acidic flavoured at first with a distinct smoke note on the back of the tongue. Again a bit bonfire to burned rubber like. Ends mild bitter and acidic.

Dec 14, 2003 Reddish-amber. Vibrant, slightly hazy colour. Some olive oil aroma with a light smokiness. The body is smokey, with light toasty bread notes. In this case, tettnang (I think) hopping cuts through the smoke in a most distracting fashion. The malts are underdeveloped, leaving a slight wateriness and a desire for something more Bambergian - this is like Celine Dion doing Beatles covers.
