Magicdave6 (4092), London, Greater London, England Jun 11, 2008 Bottle thanks to ronnie! Wow, what a beer! Darker for a lager, amazing soft carbonation, makes it incredibly drinkable, theres some caramel flavours and grassy herbal hop, very well made and balanced. Awsome stuff id have happily had it all nite, but others were to be had. pivnizub (4007), Porúří, Germany Dec 28, 2007 Bottle (purchasaed at the brasserie): Amber coloured, mid-sized, slowly collapsing off-white head, sweet dark-malty to toasted-malty nose with hops in the background and presumably a tinge of smoke; soft MF, light to medium bodied, moderate sweet-bitter flavour; lingering, dryer hoppy and toaste-malty finish. Very decent franconian brew.......... MoritzF (4019), Ruhrpott, Germany Dec 26, 2007 (bottle) Clear, chestnut colour with a short off-white foamy head. Sweet malt-accented toasty nose with caramel and a whiff of liquorice and a light hoppy touch. Moderately sweet flavour with a balancing level of bitterness, light to medium bodied, soft on carbon. Toast-malty, slightly (dark-)bready taste with caramel. Medium-dry, malty and toasty finish with an aromatic herbal hoppy blend and a lasting aftertaste with caramel and notes of chocolate. Good ! bierkoning (5079), La Tropica, Netherlands Jun 20, 2002 No head at all, almost no carbon. Reddish-amber colored. Liquorice in both aroma and taste. Some hopbitterness. A bit skunky. There are much better beers of this type.
