MBison (445), Southern Highlands, Australia Jan 21, 2008 Draught at potters. Arrived a hazy pale yellow with light golden highlights and a small creamy head which was mostly diminishing. Aroma was spicy and strong with plenty of ginger, coriander and hints of cinnamon in the back. Taste was very spiced with more ginger, coriander, some brown and hints of nutmeg. Light body but overwhelming in spices, lively carbonation and a average finish. TimE (1066), Tokyo, Japan Dec 23, 2007 Big ginger flavors over a weak malty backbone. Very creative, not! Maybe good with some Chinese food.
motelpogo (4124), Plzen, Czech Republic Feb 24, 2007 on tap at the brewery, 2005. amber with no sign of a head. quite a sqeet, ginger confectionary aroma, light and lagery texture, faintly spicy and not too bad Aarleks (402), Sydney, Australia Dec 4, 2006 750mL Champagne Bottle: This was a dull dissapointment after the fabulous Hunter Pale Ale. Cloudy orange with an almighty rocky head that stuck.. In the nose there is ginger, but it is very restrained and a little cordial-like. Some pine hop notes too (I wonder if some hops are added?). In the mouth is where this one really hits bottom; weak, old ginger and some soapy malts... That’s about it. Pretty watery and dissapointing. Sledge Jr (2721), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Nov 25, 2006 On tap at the brewery. This is a buzzy beer. Clear light yellow with a pretty white head. Large ginger flowery nose. Not too sweet- nicely done. Finish is very dry and crisp. Aroma is much better than Blue Tongue Ginger.
