"Considered by its many devotees to be one of the finest lagers brewed in Britain. The brewing of Hürlimann is strictly controlled to ensure that the beer remains true to the original Swiss recipe. Only the finest Swiss yeast and Challenger hops are used in this all malt brew to give a full lager flavour."

Bright gold and a bit flat looking. Aromas are grain with zesty lemon. Flavours are citrus, grain and quite crisp. Some soft malts, too. A pretty dry finish - quite a decent lager.

[Draught, London] A quite nice lager. Very malty aroma and flavour. Some bitterness in the finish.

March, 2003. Bottle.A pleasant malty lager. Pale coloured. Brewed under licence in the UK by Shepherd Neame. [2.1]
March, 2004. Keg. Ship & Trade. A Shepherd Neame pub. Pale yellow - foam head. Restrained malt. Mild bitterness - slightly salty. [2.1]
Oct, 2005.Keg. White Hart, Cuxton - a Shep’s pub. Side by side with Oranjeboom this struck me as having a pleasant clean hop finish and light carbonation. [2.4]

Good head and condition, malty nose with low level of hop aroma. Hops in the mouth becoming slightly ironlike towards the end , and a hop bitter finish with a strange aftertaste.

An unspectactular ’everyday beer’. Better if served very chilled.
