Ughsmash (3981), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Oct 15, 2009 Bottled. Poured clear, bright golden with a dense cap of white head. The aroma picked up bready and honey malts with a slight vegetal kicker and a bit of vanilla.. a little on the sweet side, but not that bad. The flavor found mostly honey and pale malts, again with a little vanilla.. light grainy bitterness and faint banana around (I think Ken’s right about the wheat part).. very quick finish. Light-bodied with creamy carbonation on the palate.. dry overall.. this was aiight. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA Aug 19, 2009 12 oz bottle via Mys Swap 40 (thanks daknole!)Pours a hazy gold with a small white head. Nose is spice and wheat. Taste is peppery, clovish, banannas. This is a wheat beer. Somebody screwed up in the bottling. THis is nothing even remotely resembling a pils. BOLTZ7555 (1053), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Apr 6, 2009 Bottle acquired via trade with nimbleprop...THANKS ANDREW. Lemon yellow brew with decent carbonation that somehow fails to produce more than a few bubbles for a head. Aroma and flavor are faint earthy hops and mild malt. Somewhat thin but highly drinkable. Nothing interesting here...stop rubbernecking. Sparky27 (1559), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Apr 3, 2009 Another 12oz bottle shared by BOLTZ7555 – thanks again Jason! Pours clear yellow with a minimal white head. The nose is corn, malt and grassy hops. The taste is grain, corn syrup and grass. Lighter bodied. Not very good. Aroma: Yes it has a beer aroma with a light skunking.
Appearance: Golden in color, clear with a thin head.
Flavor: This was a decent Pilsner. Some nice flavors this would be good for those super hot days when you need to kill a beer fast.
Palate: Dry finish, with a slight skunk to the taste and Mouthfeel.
Overall: Decent for a hot day beer. Thanks to Daknole for the trade.
fluffy (229), Florida, USA Mar 20, 2009 i dont know what to think of this one honestly. when i first opened it, aside from light spices and a little yeast, but aside from that, it smelled a little "off". i couldnt identify what it was, but it had a weird chemical scent. the first sip only enforced the weird chemical flavor. its amazing-somehow they managed to get the taste of skunked tap lines into a bottle of beer. kudos! now whats really odd is that as the beer warms, the chemical flavor goes away somewhat. huh? you start to get the actual flavor at that point, mostly of a little malt, corn, sour bread and a little citrus. and just to add to the weirdness, it doesnt taste like a pilsner. its just a complete headscratcher, and not in a good way. wont buy this one again. really dissapointing.
machfive55 (218), Columbia, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 18, 2009 Poured nice light yellow with a thick rocky head. There were some sweet malty and citrus and corriander aromas. I expected this to be skunky due to the clear bottle, but it was not at all. Very citrusy with orange and lemon notes with some hidden corriander and spice notes, slighly sour balance by sweet malt with almost no hops. Very interesting and I give the brewer thumbs up for developing such a rich citrus flavor that is not over the top. Not exactly my thing, but a well brewed and interesting beer. Way underrated in my opinion. jsquire (2087), St. Marys, Ohio, USA Jan 7, 2009 Golden yellow color with a fizzy white head. Light grainy nose with some lemon citrus and acetate hints. Some honey sweetness, light grains and a lemon/lime citrus finish. There is a syrupy mouthfeel that does not lead me to call this "crisp, clean and refreshing." I suppose it would do on a beach with nachos. Thanks to daknole for the bottle.
