Hurricane Reef Caribbean Style Pilsner

All the island pilsners like this have a hint of skunk in them, you have to know that already though. With that aside, i was diggin it. I found it to be far less foul than corona. I was really down with the whole hurricane reef name. It kinda set the mood, kinda like a hawaiin shirt. I was able to relax and fully enjoy this fine beverage.

Bottle courtesy of daknole. Pours gold with a white head. Smells of sweet malt, some pilsner malt, spicy, some yeast. Tastes of dry pils malt and thin with a citrussy finish. This definitely serves its purpose.

On tap at FBC. A clean clear light golden pour with white head. An aroma of light paper and hints of malt and citrus. Light flavor of malt hints of conr but not as much on the flavor as the nose. Carbonation a little aggressive and just a wee bit thin. Good all rond light beer that is clean crisp and light. I liked it as it warms it is kinda fruity.

Poured nice light yellow with a thick rocky head. There were some sweet malty and citrus and corriander aromas. I expected this to be skunky due to the clear bottle, but it was not at all. Very citrusy with orange and lemon notes with some hidden corriander and spice notes, slighly sour balance by sweet malt with almost no hops. Very interesting and I give the brewer thumbs up for developing such a rich citrus flavor that is not over the top. Not exactly my thing, but a well brewed and interesting beer. Way underrated in my opinion.

Pretty good. Pours a pale yellow gold, with a thick white head. Aroma is slightly corona-like. I guess that's a caribbean style aroma. Very light, with mild german hops. Flavor is light, light, light. Not bad, particularly for this heat wave. I'm actually desiring beer of this style right now. I never thought I'd say this, but it's too hot for imperial stout and doppelbock. Lightly malty, lagery, with a semi dry hop finish. Crisp and clean. A pretty good beer.

on tap-pours a white head with yellow color. Aroma is grassy, musty. Taste is grassy, musty, malt.

Thanks Dakine.Gold in coloration, funky spicey yeast smell. I think the sourdough descrription previously noted sums the flavor up.

I expected more from a Caribbean-style pilsener that was brewed in Miami. Then again, maybe my mistake was expecting anything at all from a Caribbean-style pilsener.
