Surpisingly cloudy for a lager. Floral hops, not much bitterness, not much malt, not much of anything. Drinkable but disappointing as a micro. PorterPounder (3148), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 26, 2003 Pleasantly surprised - reminds me of a Sam Adams. Fresh, hoppy and spicy aroma. Deep dark orange pour with a good solid head that dissipates pretty quickly. Flavor is good balance of malts and hop. Finished strong - excellent mouthfeel. Best of Hurricane thus far - two more to go.

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Feb 14, 2003 Pretty golden color with fluffy white head. Not pleasant aroma of sweet grains. Harsh on the palate with only the faintest of hop bitterness in the very back of the finish. Not what I remember from the Hurricane Reef of old. And this label says that Ybor City is brewing it. I bet they changed the recipe. Allseeingeye (223), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 22, 2002 Golden color. Mediocre head. Herby hop nose with a hint of toasted malt. Not bad for a Fl. brew, but still searching. Admiral (524), Schnecksville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 1, 2002 A pleasing middle-of-the-road lager, marred only by some sort of plasticky phenolic note on the aroma; kind of like drinking Staropramen near a brand-new shower curtain. Loses all its aroma points for that... If I have a chance to try it again, I’ll see if I got a bad one, because it showed potential. Ringo (959), Loveland, Colorado, USA

I looked forward to its appearance but was mildly disappointed with the end result. Aurelius (2654), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 5, 2002 Intense orange-gold with a way-cool label. Buttery, fruity, hoppy aroma. Fruity and medium-hopped. Smooth, mouthy palate, and the hops hang around.
