CelticBrew (457), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA Jan 1, 2008 Living in NC, I guess I had to finally try it. Yikes! Aroma of an alcoholic bum, forms huge bubbled foam head. Flavour is of a malted sledge hammer, why do I do this? 7 or 8 sips, the rest is a huge drain pour. Please avoid, fair warning.
urnamesucks (92), New York City, New York, USA Aug 21, 2008 THE KING OF MALT LIQUORS! I usually would not say so much for a malt but I must. In college we could order beer from the store’s delivery line. The minimum order was $15 and a case of 12 40oz. Hurricanes was like $13.50 so after tax it was like $15.12 or something. It was eventually called the minimum order special. Well me and the boys went through a semester long period where you could have put a pacifier on the bottle for all of us. I don’t know what we were thinking, but it was stronger than the cheap 30 packs and just so gangsta to have 40oz parties instead of keg parties. And on a side note....NO BEER PONG WITH THIS! BlackDonald (1040), North Carolina, USA Aug 8, 2008 This beer is pretty much all corn, hardly any redeeming malt qualities at all. Has that cheap apple skin fruitiness. Nothing smooth about it all all with abrupt carbonation, and that eye watering harsh aftertaste. Almost sickening. Drain pour viciousg42 (35), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Jul 2, 2008 this stuff was actually really good, i was expecting quite the opposite. with the bottle design, and the name, all wrapped up with a little note that says "brace for the smoothness" or something like that, i was expecting it to be rough. turns out its pretty smooth and decent. hop_lover (114), Corpus Christi, Texas, USA Jun 22, 2008 Ik. I can’t beleive I’ve tried this. This is sucky. I need some more of this great Great Divide IPA.....mmmmm... MaltDawg (289), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jun 9, 2008 40 oz clear bottle. Clear yellow with large white foamy head.Aroma of corn and malty sweetness. Very sweet corn and grain flavors with a sweet sticky finish. You don’t want to miss this one!
