jcwattsrugger (4045), Florida and, New Jersey, USA May 12, 2006 on tap-pours a diminishing white head with black color. Aroma is dark malt. Taste is sweet, dark malt, roasty, some lambic character. Minimum carbonation. muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA May 2, 2006 Large draught sample at the brewpub. The waitress kept asking me which of the samples I liked best, which one I wanted to have a full pint of....the IPA was interesting, but not enough so for me to drink more of while I had a full day of driving ahead...would this doppelbock be the one? It pours a murky maple with no head at all, totally still and flat-looking....nose is faintly grassy, medicinal with a touch of milk chocolate, very weak, vegetal, somewhat unpleasant....body is sour, grapy with small hints of chocolate, faint and far-away roasty malts and a bit of cheap caramel chew....stunningly watery and brackish with very very low carbonation. Dreadful. General_Gao (2575), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Jan 29, 2006 Updated: May 28, 2006Draught at the brewpub. Dark brown with thin tan head. Milk chocolate nose and flavor with toffee and alcohol. Tasty.
