Cask at Pig’s EAr 09. Loads of sugar, and the alcohol adds to the sweetness. It lacks extra hops to balance it, though I suppose its quite true to type.

A Mes rate. Cask at the White Horse.
Dark copper colour with a slight off white collar. Aroma has a bit of caramel, some chocolate and a hint of grass from the hops. Flavour wise, I get the feeling this isn’t on top form. Would like it to be better given the story about the terminally ill brewer. Alcohol is hidden well. Slight sourness. Fruity finish. A little dull. All the best to the brewer though.

(Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 27 Nov 2009) Hazy dark brown colour with brief head. Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit, toasty malt and a touch of sourness. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, raisins, prunes, toffee and chocolate. More than medium body, slightly sweet. Moderate bitterness, with focus on the maltier side. Nice beer.

Cask in the Market Porter. Alround rating: Pale sweet malt, then a big hit of grassy bitterness and peppery pluckering hits you, the alc is wellhidden asi recon this was 4.5-5.5%. Upsetting news as i remember dealing with tryst when they first got going and hope they can continue to make excellent beers.
