| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 3, 2009 Big thanks to fishingnet for hauling this back from the NW. Pours hazy deep gold with thin white head. The aroma is thick slick malts and pine to grassy to citrus hops to go along with a sense of honey. The taste is pure yum with sticky chewy sweet malts, pine hop bitterness, some citrus hops, more sweet malts and a tasty layer of black tea. The hops and malts run together with some tasty harmonious vibrations. sebletitje (1986), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pours a bright murky golden (if that makes any sense) under a thick, creamy, moussy tan head. Enormous brown bread and sweet yeast nose, really tons of cereal sugars knocking around in here. Creamy, thick body. Toffee, butterscotch, and caramel on the mid-palate, with some piney/resiny notes tying off the finish. I would probably go hoppier and set this up to have more tobacco and leather left from the hops when they’re done, ’cause there’s just a zoo of unfermented sugar in here for the yeast to work on. It’s a tidy BW, just so insanely malty, biscuity, and bready. riversideAK (2775), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 28, 2008 Bottle. Pours amber amber with a pretty decent fluffy head. Aromas of sweet toasty malts and floral and grapefruit hops. I don’t know how old this one is, but the hops here are rather strong for the style. Lots of grapefruit and floral notes in the flavor with a good dose of bitterness as well as toasty bready sweetness as balance. This drank very well for the ABV too.
