Some tart character, sharply sour midpalate. Dry wood finish, everything is in stages. Naka (526), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 1, 2009 Pours a dark brown with some slight reddish hues. Small foamy off-white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is sweet raspberry with some brown sugar cookie. Has a decent sour fruity character, but lacks the depth of beers like Rodenbach’s Grand Cru. Does not have the malty backbone. Finishes very dry. A decent body with a tight carbonation. larsniclas (3386), Gothenburg, Sweden

Dark copper with a medium, tan head.
Sweet and sour in both aroma and flavour; vinegar and some sugar.
Light oak-notes in the flavour too and also notes of apple-cider. Rciesla (3719), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 26, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark mahogany brune in the glass with a thin off white lacing. Aromatic character of lightly tart cherries, light barnyard blanket, a slight wood aged character. Thin spicy yeast but a strange lingering fruitness that wouldnt normally be ever so present in a sour ale. No etoh in the finish. Eh. ucusty (1900), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 25, 2008 Thanks to Solan for this!!! Brown pour with plum colored hues. Fizzy khaki head. Nutmeg apple, and vinegar on the nose. Fruits and yeast up front slightly acid finish combined with notable hints of oak. I agree with beerbill this would an excellent "gateway" sour beer hapjydeuce (772), Del Mar, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 12, 2008 Bottle from Pizza Port Bottle Shop. Clear ruby brown color with fizzy beige head. Mild cinnamon spice and balsamic aroma. Sweet and fruity malt flavor with a touch of raisin and baked bread. Finish is nicely covered with oak wood and wild yeasts. Your typical Flemish sour ale. Peppery, acetic finish, mild sourness. Enjoyable. timsilvia32 (447), from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 11, 2008 Poured almost brown with reddish hints. White head, with a small amount of lacing. Fairly floral aroma, hint of malt and fruit. Taste is much more fruit, subdued a bit by malt, then finished through with some sour fruits. Not overbearingly sour though. Maybe the barrel aging mellowed this out a bit. Normally this style is way too sour for me, but this was actually not bad. Could see this pairing quite well with a meal. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 21, 2008 Bottle, Poatersgat. Rich dark ruby with flecks of lace and a dissipating head. Soft acetic aroma piquant with berry fruit, strawberry hints over faint dark malts. Bittersweet sour, berry fruit and apple edge softening into brown sugar, maybe liquorice, faint chocolate afters. Some dryness in there. Tingling carbonation with a sprinkle of sherbet. Mellow. Could do with the sour turning up a notch.
