May 2, 2008 Darker ruby color, moderate head with good lacing and retention. Aroma is sweet with a light fruity sour end, lots of wood and vanilla. Medium bodied, only a light sourness, loads of vanilla sweetness. Nothing too crazy here, easy to drink.

Apr 29, 2008 Bottle: Dark brown and ruby with a small beige head. Aroma is fruity and sour, rather middle of the road in intensity. Some candied sugar sweetness. Taste is dark fruits, a little vinous, sweet fruit into tart fruit, and a little bit of the barrel aging. Rather dry, but easy drinking and enjoyable.

Apr 29, 2008 Corked bottle. Pour is clear amber-brown with little head. Aroma is sweet and slightly sour; pretty faint. Flavor was not nearly as sour as I was expecting. Medium body. Somewhat disappointing.

Apr 28, 2008 On tap, The Thirsty Monk, Asheville, NC. Brilliant Reddish Copper, Dense beige head. Very Winey, tart, fruity aroma. Flavor is sour and tart, perhaps a bit winey, with a significant oak character. Some herbal notes, as well. Very enjoyable!

Apr 27, 2008 Bottle: Pours a dark brown ebony color with a thin little head and a smidge of lacing. The nose is light and fruity with some cherry and subtle sour hints. Mild caramel and dough as well. The flavor is a little tart with a dry fruity flavor, balanced finish and a tangy overall experience. Not quite explosive enough or rich enough for my liking on the style, but it’s fun to get to try sour ales whenever they come into town.
