hophead_hans (572), Bay Area, California, USA Jun 8, 2008 Tap at CityBeer. Pours with a brown red color and a medium head. Aromas of cherries, wood and some funkiness. Flavors of oak, wood and some sour notes. Most distinct are the cheryy notes that linger on the palate. I enjoyed this beer probably because it is not so overly sour.
BeerBiker (1172), Odense, Denmark Aug 27, 2008 A very drinkable beer with smoothness, nice easy oakness, but also challenging with sourness and acid over average. Adenila (630), Denmark Aug 26, 2008 Bottle from Beerbiker, shared with Beerbiker.
The one we had said oakaged, so it might be a different one.
Clear dark brown with a baige head. Caramelized suger and sour ale aroma with a medium tart flavor backed up by eartheren notes. Was overall mild and very enjoyable. merlin48 (344), Henderson, Kentucky, USA Aug 24, 2008 11.2 oz bottle pours a slightly hazed rusty brown body with a small beige head. Aroma has earthy wood and spiderwebs, tart berry, caramel, and some cider. Sour character, as expected, has notes of apple cider, tart cherry, and prevalent wood tones. Hints of prunes and caramel. Nice example of the style. Borresteijn (509), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 20, 2008 On tap @ De Geuzen. Red/brown/purple colour, tan head. Vinous aroma, dark fruits and tart.
