Bottle: Pours a dark brown ebony color with a thin little head and a smidge of lacing. The nose is light and fruity with some cherry and subtle sour hints. Mild caramel and dough as well. The flavor is a little tart with a dry fruity flavor, balanced finish and a tangy overall experience. Not quite explosive enough or rich enough for my liking on the style, but it’s fun to get to try sour ales whenever they come into town.

Bottle. Pours a clear, dark ruby/brown with a beige/light brown head. Nice lacing. Aroma is sweet, fruity and acidic. (Red) wine notes. Really nice. Flavour is acidic, but not as much as the aroma, and it’s also quite (dry) bitter and malty. Didn’t like this combo too much at first (would have liked it to match the aroma more), but it grew on me, and I ended up appreciating it. Slight metallic notes and notes of plums appear as it warms. Finish is a dry red wine-bitterness. Overall a quite nice brew, which was on the brink of becoming cloying, but pulled through. 08-10-08.

Deep brown with just a hint of red and a thin light tan head. Disappears quickly. Oaky acidity. Malty aroma. Nice tartness on the tongue, slight hints of cherries and pit fruits, some vanilla, more oak and a nice sour finish.

Pours a dark brown with redu hue, light on the aroma, but some of the oak and sourness comes thru. Very smooth palate and taste, sourness in the front, oak flatness in the finish. Halfway thru the drink the complexity is hidden, and it becomes a light drinking beer. The first half is complex and very enjoyable, the last half your palate is accustomed and the drink smooths out and the complexity is lost, but still good.
