esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Mar 22, 2009 On tap at City Lounge, called an Imperial Pale Ale. Amber, medium off-white head that slowly fades away and leaves some lacing. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, alcohol and sweet malt. Taste of citrus, grapefruit and sweet malt with moderate to low bitterness. Perhaps a bit too sweet but went down pretty easy and was pretty tasty overall. Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Mar 21, 2009 On draught at the City Lounge in Cudahy, Wisconsin. Pours a clear copper amber brew with a creamy off-white head that has some good retention and spotty lacing. Aroma of citrus hops, caramel malt, some toffee and some orange zest. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with flavors of grapefruit, caramel malt and some oranges. Finish has a lingering dry bitterness that has a light aftertaste of grapefruit and caramel malt. Almost the same as the Earth Dog IPA without the sharp hop character. Nice for an American Pale Ale.
