III Dachshunds Smooth Red Lager

I don’t usually like toffee/butterscotch flavors in large quantities, so when I read about this beer on another site I was less than interested. Decided to try it at the Landmark 1850 in Milwaukee, and while there is quite a bit of butterscotch flavor there it’s nice and balanced. Pours red, with a lasting head. Nice.

Lightly hazed orange/brown color with a heavy one finger head of tight dark cream bubbles. Sweet butterscotch and toasted malt aroma. Diacetyl City, but it work in a yorkshire stone kind of way. This one has as much butterscotch as any beer that I think I have ever had, But i do like it.
