imdownthepub (4043), Banbury, Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire, England Aug 15, 2004 Bottled, pasteurised. Brown amber colour with thin head. I was lucky enough to find the two Ilzer beers in the same bar so could compare, and this is the ugly sister I’m afraid. Looks reasonable, but the flavour impact is almost totally missing. Thin malty and sweet, a rather unfortunate beer. I also noted that no-one else in the bar ordered it. MartinKubert (862), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 24, 2002 Not even nearly as good as it’s sister: Ilzer Hefe. Very thin and sour taste of cola with yeast. A great disappointment! Mads Langtved (2246), Křbenhavn K, Denmark Aug 22, 2002 Very yeasty and thin. Like water with yeast. Hildigöltur (5052), Křbenhavn Ř, Denmark Aug 22, 2002 Very watery and thin. The wheat is not very evident in the aroma nor the flavour (luckily). omhper (10454), Stockholm, Sweden Jan 4, 2002 Murky orange brown colour. Toffee aroma. Lacks the esters in the pale version.
