Arayaga2 (932), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 16, 2007 An APA? Really, I’m surprised, since this was a nutty brown product with malt greatly upstaging hops. Not bad, but not my box of nuts. shrubber85 (2832), Wallhalben, Germany May 5, 2007 Tap. Light brown sugar and malt aroma. Amber color with small head. Slightly sweet barley malt with a hint of berry. A nice and tasty beer but minimal hops for the style. TheBeerLover (1019), DC Metro Area, USA Apr 12, 2007 Sampled on draught at the brewpub in Phialdelphia, PA. Pours to a bright, amber color, with a tall, off white head, and a moderate carbonation. The nose is inviting, with some nice citrus aromas of grapefruit. The palate is firm, with pale and sweet malt flavor, paired with a light citus hop flavor. This beer finishes with pale and sweet malt up front, then ends with some citus hop bittereness that slightly lingers. Nice easy drinking pale ale. I would have liked more hop aromas and flavors. xproudfoot (729), Paleolithic, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 28, 2006 Light aroma of faint malts, not much there. Deep amber beer with thin beige head. mainly malt flavor with a little shoe. yuengling lager finish. vague hop. lacking pale ale character. not what I look for in a beer really, wouldn’t be a bad substitute for yuengling. Their seasonal APA outdid this by quite a bit. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 16, 2006 Clear, warm amber body. Mild aroma with light, fruity and caramel malt. Sweet, toasty, and grainy flavor with some fruity esters. Relatively mild hop profile. A fair session beer. Darker and maltier than the seasonal "American Pale Ale" that was on tap at the same time.
ukoolaid (572), Amherst, Massachusetts, USA Jun 23, 2005 Golden amber with some haze. Aroma is nicely hoppy and citrus. Taste is clean and hoppy. Not a bad pale ale at all. Not Sierra, but I like what they are trying to do here. JoeM500 (1876), Chicago (little italy), Illinois, USA Jun 1, 2004 This was listed as the 12.5og American Pale on tap. No head to speak of, strikingly low carbonation. Slightly cloudy. Tasted cereal and corn sweetness, grainy flat aftertaste. The chalkboard showed this was a fresh batch, but something was not good about it!
