Sample at the Texas Beer & Brats tasting 10/11/2009. This brew is a clear amber-copper color with a thin white head that dissipates to almost nothing quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Light resiny hops aroma with a bit of fruit in the background. Light to medium body with a crisp mouthfeel and flavors of hops, mild citrus and subtle malt. The finish is short and hoppy with the bitterness disappearing very fast. Slightly above average overall.

Reviewed 8/9/2009 (Bottle): Pours a somewhat opaque burnt orange colored body, with a big creamy off-white color head, lasting. Hoppy aroma, some citrus like orange, and some spice too. Some maltiness there, biscuitiness. Hoppy taste, sweet malty aftertaste. Some biscuit malt and a bitterness on the end, some pine. Tasty, reminds me of a sam adams or fat tire. Somewhat creamy mouthfeel.

Bottle shared by Dogbrick. Clear gold pour with a medium off-white head. Citrusy hop aroma with a bit of malt. Sweet malt flavor with a grassy hop finish.

Bottle from Cavie. Uninteressting. I wanted more hops. Like I said, "It was what it was."

Another thanks to ericandersnavy for another bottle. Hazy peach color with a three finger fluffy white head. Aroma is light resin over a decent amount of malt. Medum body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is light roasted malt and mild resin. It is quite bitter. Properly so. Pretty good drink.

Got this while visiting UT Austin... nice and easy drinking, but rather bland, especially for the style. It’s fine, and there aren’t major flaws or off flavors, but it’s really lacking in malt or hop profile. Be brave, Independence!

bottle, golden color with strong foam head, good lace, light pine and malt nose, very seltzer like body with minimal hop notes, almost a bitter vegetal flavor

Clouded orange pour. Weak smell, if at all. Taste is sour with a dry finish. Hops should play a much bigger role here but don’t.
