WeeHeavySD (1511), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Jul 4, 2008 Bomber I got in Dallas in an in person Trade. 2006 Vintage. Porus orange with a 1 finger tan head. The nose is full of vanilla and its rather pleasent The taste is sweet with some caramel and nothing. It feels like there should be something more here but there isn’t it feels like its missing something. ansermadide (138), Kyle, Texas, USA May 11, 2008 Updated: May 16, 2008I like me a strong old ale, and this one really isn’t too shabby, coming from a small Austin-based brewery. Sold in 22oz bottles in the Austin metro. And the coolest part is you can meet Jasper (the beer’s namesake) every frist Saturday at the brewery. Pours a hazy amber/orange with minimal head. Sweet and malty with hints of spice/fruit. Almost reminds me of a lighter, sweeter barley wine. Could use a little work, but not bad for the age of the brewery. This was the 2007 vintage - from what I remember, it seems a little better than the 2006 vintage, but it’s hard to tell if it’s just that I’ve adjusted to it. My favorite from Independence Brewing Co. sk8viking (6028), Copenhagen, Denmark May 4, 2008 A hazy amber beer with a off-white head. The aroma and taste is of fruits, mellon, citrus like, some caramel malt to. Medium body with a dry finish. Ungstrup (10801), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 23, 2008 Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of wood, malt, caramel, and over ripe fruits. The flavor is sweet malty with citrusy and lightly flowery notes of hops, leading to a dry bitter finish.
