Tap @ brewpub. Clear gold with a white head. Mildly amount of citrusy hops in the aroma with some caramel underneath. The flavor had a mild but stiff citrus note that grew into a moderate bitterness. The finish was fairly dry and not very refreshing. It was almost a tongue scraper from the bitterness.

Draft from Independence. Orangey-Amber appearance with light amounts of head. Light on hops, easily drinkable, but not as good as other IPA options.

On tap at the brew pub. Pours a lightly hazy orange amber with a medium creamy/bubbly off white lacing head. Aroma of various citrus, pine, orange, caramel. Flavors of the same. Nice touch of hop bitterness with malty sweetness to balance. Slightly thin.

Tap at brewery. Sweet orange/pinapple aroma - minimal hops. Medium amber color with small head. Slightly sweet orange-pineapple hops flavor. A mild easy drinking beer but probably closer to an APA - probaly wouldn’t please an IPA lover.

Sampled on draught at the brewpub in Philadelphia, PA. Pours to a bright, amber color, with a creamy, white head, and a moderate amount of carbonation. The nose is nice on this beer, with good flowery/grassy hop aromas, with hints of fruity esters. The palate is firm, with good biscuit, and stewed malt flavors, paired with some juicy, estery fruit flavor. This beer finishes with more good malt and fruit up front, then ends with a grassy hop bite that slightly lingers. Well done BIPA, with a good balance of malt, fruit, and hops. Tangy, and very drinkable, it has a nice hop bite, and is a makes for a nice pint to enjoy at the brewpub, or to have with a number of dishes on the menu.

On tap at Independence Brew Pub. Not so good it had more of a sweet flavor couldn’t pinpoint it. Not a typical IPA.

I finished up a long work day on foot. What do you know, Independence was 30 feet from my last site. I thought I’d pop in for my second visit and order an IPA. Pours amber orange with a pillowy white head. The place is dark, so I’ll give it a 4 for benefit of a doubt. The aroma is very citrusy, and smells like its going to be good. Then I take a sip, and it’s downhill from there. Lots of citrus in the flavor, and dominates what malt flavors are there. Slight watery mouthfeel. Weak bitter finish has distracting off flavors that I can’ t pinpoint. I remember this being better a year ago. Then again, maybe my palate has changed. Well, I did not stay for another. This was NOT WORTH $4 for a 12oz pour.
