Feb 17, 2006 "Cask conditioned. Poued a nice dark copper color. Smalled creamy head which left good lacing. Not sure if it was cause it was cask conditioned but almost no carbonation. Mouthfeel was smooth, kind of coated the tounge. Aroma was of sweet malts and yeast. Flavor was of hops and sweet malts. Had kind of a sweet bready aftertaste. Awsome beer. "

Dec 5, 2004 Very dark for a scotch ale. Almost black with a thick head. Looked more like a porter or a stout, but when I tasted it, there was definitly the character of a scotch. Lots of malty sweetness. Very different from what I am used to in a scotch, but I liked it.

Nov 29, 2004 Draft at the brewpub during the Eagles victory over the Giants. A bit dry and hoppy for a scottish ale, lots of roasted barley more in line with a porter. Overall a bit off balance.

Oct 14, 2002 Pitch black with a thin tan head. Slight lingering hop bitterness on the palate. Not as malty as I would expect from a scotch ale and I would liken this more to a porter.

Apr 28, 2002 Rich creamy head, kept that great head throughout the entire pint, blackish color, had a very distinct sweetness on the nose & at the start of the taste, a malty-type of aftertaste, I’m not usually one for Scotch ales but this was great
