The nose is that Dixie/Abita cheese stench. Oh well. The first taste is musky, dirty, yeastiness, but the hops are prevalent with light fruitiness. The bitterness is rather light in the end. The mouthfeel is difinitely thin. There just isn’t much in the way of micros to choose from down/up here (depending on your point of view). DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA

I was happily surprised. Not bad. PorterPounder (3138), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 13, 2004 Surprisingly impressed. Light copper color, tight white head, just a little bit of lacing. Cool bottle - can't go wrong with a fish - especially an amberjack -one of my favorites. Aroma is a bit off - reminds me of overripe vegetables. Flavor has elements of caramel with an enticing fruity, citrusy back end. Mouthfeel is velveety smooth. Strong finish. Found at the local pub - would buy a six pack for sure if sold locally. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 22, 2004 This brew poured a small head of finely sized light brown colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a fair lace. The body was transparent softly carbonated and amber brown in color. The aroma was malty with some caramel notes to it. The mouth feel was mildly tingly and bitter with a mild hop bite. The flavor was that of caramel malts with some red ale flavoring to it. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 13, 2004 Bottle. This beer formed a small sized ivory head with fine-small sized bubbles that quickly dissipated. The nose was hoppy and the flavor of this beer was bitter and hoppy with a slight aftertaste. The mouthfeel was tingly and fairly smooth. The lacing was sparse.
