Commercial Description:
India Pale Ales were first brewed by British Brewers for the Brits when they occupied India. These ales were invented to meet the demand that the Brits had for their pints… The problem was that without refrigerated cargo containers the beer was spoiling on the voyage over; so the brewers discovered that if they “hopped” up the beer and rose up the alcohol content that the beer would arrive in fine shape. Following that long tradition Indian Wells Brewing Co. has made a classic IPA. This ale comes in at a more traditional IBU of 52; so if you’re looking for a crazy over the top IPA; sorry try another beer… But is you like a clean; dry hopped beer that compliments spicy foods or just like the taste of hops; give our Amnesia IPA a try today!

12-oz bottle Marcello’s Lafayette, LA - Aroma - toasted, biscuit (malt); Flavor - sweet, salty, bready, toasted, biscuit (malt), finishes dry; Appearance: hazy golden to orange color with white head; Mouthfeel: light bodied, moderate carbonation; Overall: not a balance of hop and malt IPA beer with no presence of hops. However, a nice malty taste beer. I don’t think the lack of hop aroma and flavor is due to an old bottle. I would be amazed if hops could drop out this much.

Nice hoppy smell, but not really in the taste. Flavor is almost sweet, but not really. Interesting, but not one I’d buy again.

Pours a cloudy copper with no head. Aroma is sweet, sugary malt. Flavor is sweet with barely a hop note. Flat too. Drainpour.

This was an IPA??? Sugar sweet candy aroma. Appearance was murky and somewhat brown. Flavor was soapy and watery. The only way you could tell this was a beer was the sweet corn malt and decent bittering to it. Poor attempt of an IPA to me.

(12oz bottle) Pours a lightly hazy amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma of apple, nuts, toasted grain, grass, and caramel. Flavor of caramel malt and mild hops (grass, floral).

Crystal clear amber with a fleeting head. Mild grassy hop aroma. Medium body. Earthy tea leaf hop flavors on a caramel malt base brew. Not too bad.

Yellowish brown in appearance, moderate head. Slightly malty, flowery aroma. Not very hoppy at all for an IPA, but it can be slightly tasted. The alcohol content is well masked and it’s just perfectly carbonated. If you’re a hophead, this isn’t the IPA for you. That being said, I’m not, and I think it’s delicious.

Pours a medium tan-brown .. . low head but some there .. . aroma of summer pine and sea water.. . wow, a pretty salty beer with light muddled pine and seaweed .. sea water brew .. . spots of lacing .. . goes down the throat without a thought.. . an easy drinking brew but has no real enjoyable flavours or complexity .. . but a poundable brew at best, the abv is not detected .. . tonight will be genral tso and rice with west brom, middlesboro, and newcastle for championship dessert! 5-24-09 7:45pm
