Jan 16, 2009 Opaque black color with a medium tan head. Lightly roasted malt aroma. Nice smokey flavor, followed by a malty sweetness. Soft carbonation, fairly dry finish. This is a nice session stout.

Dec 9, 2009 Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a small frothy off white head that diminishes quickly leaving decent spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is a sweet fruity malt with raisin and light roast. Thin mouthfeel with a roasty malt with brown sugar and molasses with a nice dry finish. Easy to drink, a good dry stout from Indian Wells.

Jan 25, 2009 Bottle from Whole Foods. Quite dark on the pour. Slightly sweet roasted malty nose. Some chocolate and coffee. Smooth and flavorful. Good chocolate flavors with a nice amount of bitter roasted malts. Enjoyable.

Feb 17, 2009 Bottle at Whole Foods in Sacramento. Very black color with an emphemeral tan head. Smells burntly toasty. About medium body with creamish carbonation. Flavor is really gritty burnt toast. Goes on to a touch of sweetness before finishing burnt, lightly smoky, bitter. It’s an ok thing, and reminds of the original Guinness from 40 years ago. Except the flavor leaves the mouth rather than staying. Arguably a bit short on ingredients.

Apr 15, 2009 Bottle thanks to bhensonb: Pours an opaque black with a thin, spotty-lacing beige head. Aroma of toasty dark caramel and roasted malts with a hint of coffee. Body starts with average fullness and a touch of sweet caramel malt which soon fades into a roasted nutty and burnt drier finish. Has some lingering peanut brittle character without the sweetness. A pretty true to style and drinkable brew.
