Commercial Description:
This smooth rich dark southern German dobblebock is an Indian Wells Brewing Co. favorite. This 10.8% beer is powerful, but VERY easy to drink! This beer is not for the timid. A few of them and you’ll feel like you’ve had a frontal lobotomy the next day. Consume with caution!

Appearance: Pours a dark brown, reddish-edged body bordered by a small ring of white bubbles. Smell: Golden raisins and a small handful of roasted grains blended into rich, dark caramel. Taste: Flavor of dark caramel, though it only imparts a mild, restrained measure of sweetness. Dark fruits. Touch of roast, a touch of booze (but not at all what you’d expect from an abv over 10%). Lightly sweet on the finish with a taste of crème caramel. Mouthfeel: Slightly beyond medium-bodied. Mild carbonation. Drinkability: Though it seems I’m the only one to think this, I felt the beer was a treat from start to finish.

Pours a beautiful brown color with a tan head. Aroma is malty, caramel, toffee, nutty, and some roast. Flavor is malty, toffee, some caramel, and a hint of roast.

12oz bottle: Pours a transparent copper mahogany with a thin, wispy-lacing off-white head. Complex aroma of sweet molten dark caramel with a hint of milk chocolate and authentic German lager yeast. Body starts much less sweeter than expected with a fizzy palate and dry toasty grainy notes. Seems to hide it’s alcohol pretty well in an almost watery finish. Great aroma, but the flavor is a let down.

12oz bottle. Pours brown with ample head. Head quickly dissipates with lacing. Beer feels thin and flavors are subdued. Very easy drinking since alcohol is well hidden. If I didn’t now, I would have guess it at 5-6% abv. Drinks like a session beer, but not enough flavors for a such a strong beer.

Pours a great looking dark brown that shows red when held up to a light with a nice off white head. Smells faintly of sweet malts. Flavor is watery but has some bread, molasses, some brown sugar notes. Like everybody else has said it’s crazy how well the abv is hidden in this one, but it’s pretty thin and watery. It’s a good effort but nothing to go out of your way for.

12oz bottle pours with little or no head. Does not really have any distinctive aroma. Tastes of molasses, bread, and nuts. Very easy to drink. For being 10.8% the alcohol is non detectable.

12 bottle. Pours clear dark amber brown with nearly no head. Sweet but faint nose of maple, oak, tobacco, maple, molasses, but basically the aroma is very faint and nearly unnoticeable. Similar taste - sweet chewy malts, some wood, toast, bread, nuts, but all very light. Lacks depth.

Aroma is sweet malt, not very impressive in the nose. The beer is dark and sweet. Alcohol content is completely hidden. Its very thin, and like some have said, I can’t believe that the alcohol can be this high in a beer this thin. Drink it if you want an easy way to get hammered, otherwise leave it alone.
