| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Oct 24, 2008 bottle - Pours deep amber with a big, fluffy white, long-lasting head. The aroma is mainly of sweet malt with a touch of fruit. The flavor is sweet malt and dark fruit in a nice combination. How they managed to make a ’’big beer’’ come out watery, I don’t know, but unfortunately they did. That’s the main drawback here. Otherwise it’s pretty tasty. bsierra (213), Vista, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Sep 27, 2008 Bottle from whole foods, San Diego. Aroma is sweet malt, not very impressive in the nose. The beer is dark and sweet. Alcohol content is completely hidden. Its very thin, and like some have said, I can’t believe that the alcohol can be this high in a beer this thin. Drink it if you want an easy way to get hammered, otherwise leave it alone.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 14, 2008 (Vegas trip) I had to buy this one after seeing the name and label. Deep red brown with a thick brown head. Aroma is malt and smooth. Light bodied with light flavor as well, malty, and very drinkable. No hint of the high alcohol in the flavor. Very drinkable brew. ghawener (963), San Salvador, El Salvador
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 13, 2008 Bottle: Have tried a few brews from IWB, consistenly good solid beers! Lobotomy is another great examples of craftmanship. Completely agree "10.8% beer is powerful, but VERY easy to drink! " Beerman6686 (1292), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 4, 2008 Poured a murky brown color with a small off white head. Aroma was of dark dried fruits, some brown sugar and other malts. Flavor is much the same, kinda of bland, nothing really sticks out, but the label is right, it is extremely drinkable and hides the alcohol very well. Aquilo (275), California, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jul 22, 2008 Looks like a light root beer. Caramel brown, small head, and lots of bubbles clinging to the side of the glass. Aroma is faint, and knda putrid. I guess if I’ beeing nice, I could say that it smell earthy and sweet. Cinnamon, raisins, and methane. Yum. Really makes me want to take a drink. Tastes watery with a hint of mud, vinegar, raisins, and brown sugar. Mouthfeel is fizzy, and I thought that there were some lumps. I don’t know what the lumps were, because I don’t see any sediment in the bottom of the glass. When all is said and done, at least this beer is drinkable. rallison (113), USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 22, 2008 Pours a dark brown with a fizzy head that mostly dies. Smell is pretty good - caramel, apples and brown sugar. Slightly bready.
Taste, however, is a letdown. Simple bready brown sugar and apples. Taste is also somewhat watery somehow - don’t understand that given the 10.8%. It’s just a kind of boring flavor profile.
Mouthfeel is a bit too watery and fizzy given the ABV. Drinkability is good though.
Overall, an entirely one-dimensional, flawed beer. You could almost argue that Steel Reserve has more complexity.
