Commercial Description:
This smooth rich dark southern German dobblebock is an Indian Wells Brewing Co. favorite. This 10.8% beer is powerful, but VERY easy to drink! This beer is not for the timid. A few of them and you’ll feel like you’ve had a frontal lobotomy the next day. Consume with caution!

Bottle must’ve been cracked in packaging as bottle opener took a chunk out of the lip of the bottle when opening. Put through strainer to make sure no glass was there. Head died pretty fast after pouring into glass. Very malty aroma. No hops in aroma that I can tell. Thick body. While there’s carbonation there, not huge. Slight banana in flavor. Commercial description’s warning is very accurate. I can’t believe this has over 10% alc in it. Too smooth for that. Palate is clean with nothing really lingering in the mouth. Still not really impressed and its fairly unremarkable otherwise.

12 oz bottle from Country Club Liquors! Nose of caramel, some faint smoke, banana, and spices. Clear dark brown with a small beige head that laces lightly. Flavor is peppery spices, caramel, and a little background bitterness.

Pours dark brown, almost cola color. Tan head. Light smoke is noted on the nose, with some caramel as well. On the palate the caramel is present again with a brownbread flavor that comes through. Medium bodied and does not seem to be anywhere near 10.5% as indicated on the bottle. Relatively easy drinking, but disappointing for a doppelbock.

Brown in color, clear, and has a small off white head. The smell is malts, caramel, and slight roasty. The taste is malts, sweet, caramel, alcohol, and ok.

Well i ordered this of beeronthewall.com and i have to say right off the bat i was horrifically disappointed. Alcohol was hidden to the point that i didnt eveven realize it was there. Couldn’t get a good head to form up and the littel that was there faded fast. Felt like i was drinking soda left out on the counter for a few days. Never going to drink this one again. Big let down

Local bottle. First off: 10.8 ABV? Did not really notice that at all in the flavour. Very still pour, just a dark brown appearance with no real head or carbonation. Aroma and flavour were dominated by molasses and dark fruit. Fine but nothing great. Fairly simple overall.

Bottle. Deep, dark caramel brown with a sparse white head. Lightly sweet aroma, mostly grainy, very mild aroma. Same with taste, very low key, slight sweet tang at the end. Doesn’t taste like 10%.

Six pack from Whole Foods. Nice roasted flavor, but no aroma and a watery mouthfeel.
