Commercial Description:
This smooth rich dark southern German dobblebock is an Indian Wells Brewing Co. favorite. This 10.8% beer is powerful, but VERY easy to drink! This beer is not for the timid. A few of them and you’ll feel like you’ve had a frontal lobotomy the next day. Consume with caution!

This is the best beer I’ve ever drank! I picked it up at Whole Foods and what a great find. Lobotomy Bock, man you can feel the alcohol.

Wonderful brew. Absolutely tasty. Insanely dark, yet real smooth and easy to drink. And for the 10.8% alcohol, you HONESTLY cannot taste the alcohol. So be warned, you won’t realize how quickly faded you’ll get. If your ever driving to Mammoth from LA, stop off at the brewery. It’s about the 1/2 way point. We stop all the time, sample some brews, and continue onward.

Not too much in the aroma. There isn’t a lot of chocolate or sweetness to this, but it is amazingly smooth. Goes down very easy and there is absolutely no way you would know the alcohol content if it wasn’t on the bottle. Truly a great beer, esp. on a hot day at Furnace Creek, Death Valley.

Appearance: Pours a dark brown, reddish-edged body bordered by a small ring of white bubbles. Smell: Golden raisins and a small handful of roasted grains blended into rich, dark caramel. Taste: Flavor of dark caramel, though it only imparts a mild, restrained measure of sweetness. Dark fruits. Touch of roast, a touch of booze (but not at all what you’d expect from an abv over 10%). Lightly sweet on the finish with a taste of crème caramel. Mouthfeel: Slightly beyond medium-bodied. Mild carbonation. Drinkability: Though it seems I’m the only one to think this, I felt the beer was a treat from start to finish.

Bottle. Pours a dark ruby color with a small frothy off white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is a sweet fruity malt with raisin and caramel. Decent spotty lacing on the glass. The taste is similar to the aroma with brown sugar and raisin. Easy to drink while hiding the alcohol very well. A very good doppelbock from Indian Wells.

This beer is a bit of an enigma...It claims 10.8 ABV but it drinks WAY smoother than one would expect. To the "educated" beer drinker this may come off as a letdown, as the beer drinks too light and lets you off too easy. To the average beer drinker, this may be the holy grail. It’s a quaffable beer that will knock you out really fast. So go in knowing that you are going to be drinking a really smooth beer - except you may be expecting something complex.

Pours with a very dark reddishobrown body topped by a medium thick head with some lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet with notes of dark fruit and brown sugar as well as slight underlying notes of roasted coffee. The flavor is slightly sweet with a touch of roastiness, some brown sugar notes and a touch of hoppy bitterness. Full bodied, smooth and slightly warming.

pours a stunning brownish/orange with a good head and lace. nose is a nice combo of deeply toasty malts and spicy hops. flavor very balanced, especially for the size-good sweet maltiness balanced with nice hops. suprisingly good, and well worth trying
