| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 16, 2009 My friend was determined to find the cheapest beer with the most alcohol in it. At 10.8% and a 6 pack for $10, he succeeded. Pours a brownish red color that is murky and is topped with a light tan tiny little head. Nose of nuts, molasses, tin can, and caramel. Alcohol is unbelievably well hidden. Mouthfeel is on the watery side and finish is shorter.

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 30, 2009 Bottle, here we go again . . . pours thin, slippery mud brown with no lasting head at all. Aroma is surprisingly mild, minerally, indiscriminant “brown” flavor, some red fruit essence. Flavor starts amazingly mild, a sort of muffled, dirty caramel and earthy notes. Messy finish, full of dirty mineral water. So watery . . . what the shit? Where is all that 10.8% alcohol? I am confused and unhappy, and though this beer may have been tolerable if labeled differently (style, alcohol), it ends up being acutely unsatisfying. Frohike (10), Santa Cruz, California, USA

It’s not a bock. All of the flavor characteristics point to a brown ale. 10.8%? Um, no, not even close. Avoid this one completely. ttutony (105), Texas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 9, 2009 Decent beer, deceptive in that the high alcohol percentage does not really show through. IrishBoy (2725), Bakersfield, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 3, 2009 12 oz bottle from Country Club Liquors! Nose of caramel, some faint smoke, banana, and spices. Clear dark brown with a small beige head that laces lightly. Flavor is peppery spices, caramel, and a little background bitterness. yemenmocha (426), Glendale, Arizona, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 12, 2009 Pours dark brown, almost cola color. Tan head. Light smoke is noted on the nose, with some caramel as well. On the palate the caramel is present again with a brownbread flavor that comes through. Medium bodied and does not seem to be anywhere near 10.5% as indicated on the bottle. Relatively easy drinking, but disappointing for a doppelbock.

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 27, 2009 Brown in color, clear, and has a small off white head. The smell is malts, caramel, and slight roasty. The taste is malts, sweet, caramel, alcohol, and ok. Alcohol was hidden to the point that i didnt eveven realize it was there. Couldn’t get a good head to form up and the littel that was there faded fast. Felt like i was drinking soda left out on the counter for a few days. Never going to drink this one again. Big let down BelgianBeerGal (1325), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 12, 2009 Local bottle. First off: 10.8 ABV? Did not really notice that at all in the flavour. Very still pour, just a dark brown appearance with no real head or carbonation. Aroma and flavour were dominated by molasses and dark fruit. Fine but nothing great. Fairly simple overall.
